Are you ready to stand in solidarity with international human rights defenders? You’re invited to Freedom Forward’s first Freedom Community Call!
We will be joined by:
— Lina al-Hathloul, sister of Saudi Arabian women’s rights defender Loujain al-Hathloul.
— Bethany Alhaidari, women’s rights advocate who lived in Saudi Arabia for close to a decade and now serves as Saudi desk officer at the Freedom Initiative.
— Isaac Evans-Frantz, global campaigner to stop the war in Yemen and executive director of Action Corps.
Our “Freedom Community” is a grassroots community of individuals with a passion for advocating for freedom and human rights around the world. You and I will join together in monthly actions and opportunities to support advocates for women’s rights, peace, and democracy — right from our homes.
Together, we have already had huge successes in our work over the last year:
— We successfully encouraged 45 Members of the U.S. Congress to call on the U.S. to drop out of Saudi Arabia’s G20 summit.
— We successfully urged Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and the mayors of London, New York, and Los Angeles to stand up for women’s rights and boycott a Saudi mayors summit.
— We got the New York Public Library to cancel a Saudi dictatorship propaganda event when UN diplomats were coming to town.
By taking these actions, you and I have placed enormous pressure on Saudi Arabia’s dictatorship. We have sent a clear message to politicians and corporations that the days of partnering with a brutal dictator are over.
Now, we’re launching our Freedom Community, because we believe that the best way to defend democracy and human rights is by working together to make change possible. We can only mobilize with your help.
Sign up for our Freedom Community Launch Call on Sunday, March 28th at 1:00 pm EST / 5:00 pm GMT.
Freedom Community members will take part in monthly actions to push corporations, politicians, and lobbyists to stop defending dictators. We will learn from people on the front lines of campaigns for women’s rights and democracy. Whether you prefer sending emails or making phone calls, we have an action for you, and we need your help!
Many dissidents living under authoritarian regimes have taken huge risks to stand up for their freedoms. It’s our responsibility to stand together with them and do what we can in our own countries to support their hard work. Join our launch call to become part of our Freedom Community.
Invite your friends to join our grassroots community as we offer our support to people around the world who are campaigning for freedom and democracy.
